Who I am

This website is operated by William Farmer, trading as William Farmer Photography & Film, a photographer and filmmaker based in Hampshire, United Kingdom. For anything relating to your personal data, email williamfarmer.photography@outlook.com.

What I collect and why

When you send an enquiry through this website I collect the details you provide:

your name, email address and phone number, and how you’d prefer to be contacted;
the services you’re interested in, dates, locations, venue and any budget you choose to share;
your message and, optionally, how you heard about me.

I use this information solely to respond to your enquiry and, if you book, to plan and deliver your photography or film. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries. Enquiries are submitted through Formspree, a form-handling service that processes the details on my behalf and forwards them to my business email.

If you contact me by WhatsApp, email or phone, I’ll use the details you share in the same way. WhatsApp’s own privacy policy applies to messages sent through that service.

Photographs and films

Photographs and films I create for clients are used to deliver your booking. Any use of your images for marketing, including on this website or social media, is agreed with you separately as part of your booking.

Cookies and analytics

This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies. If you start an enquiry, your draft answers are held in your browser’s session storage so they aren’t lost if you navigate away; they are cleared when the enquiry is sent or the tab is closed, and are never sent anywhere until you press send. Embedded videos, where present, load only when you choose to play them. See the cookies page for details.

How long I keep information

Enquiry details are kept for as long as needed to respond and, if you book, for the duration of our work together and any period required for accounting or legal purposes. If you don’t book, I’ll delete your enquiry within a reasonable time, or sooner on request.

Sharing

I don’t sell or rent personal information. Data may be handled by service providers I use to run the business (for example email, cloud storage and gallery delivery), each under their own data-processing terms, and disclosed where required by law.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, object to or restrict its use, and ask for it to be transferred. To exercise any of these rights, email williamfarmer.photography@outlook.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Changes

This policy may be updated from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
