Behind the lens

The person
behind the camera.

Hello, I’m William. A photographer and filmmaker based in Hampshire, working across London, the UK and wherever a good story takes me.

My story

Why I fell in love with this.

Every photographer brings their own style to the table. Mine is natural and candid: the genuine, unposed moments people often don’t realise happened until they see the photographs later. The ones that bring smiles, happy tears and plenty of laughter.

That’s also why I’ve started making films. A photograph holds a moment; a film keeps the sound of it, the pace of it, the voices. Shooting both the same way, quietly and without fuss, means the day gets remembered as it actually felt.

Depending on what you book, we can include traditional posed photographs too. And if you feel a little nervous in front of the camera, you’re in good company. Most people do. My job is to make sure you feel relaxed and comfortable, so the day or session is as enjoyable and stress free as possible.

“A picture catches a million and one things. The first glance of the groom spotting the bride, the smile from the ‘I do’, the laughter from the best man’s speech, those first baby and family portraits. With each click a photographer tells a story, one picture at a time.”

Off duty

A few things about me.

The older you get, the bigger a kid you become. Here’s what fills the time between shoots.

  • Married in May 2025, with a daughter who’s nine and a son who arrived at the start of 2025.
  • Never goes for a walk without a camera. Wildlife photography is the hobby that keeps him outdoors.
  • Has photographed some beautiful places around the world, and is always up for travelling to the next one.
  • Anything by Ricky Gervais or Greg Davies, plus Friday Night Dinner and The IT Crowd.
  • A big love of music, and a few bands in his younger days.
  • Cricket first, then football, rugby and the occasional frame of snooker.
  • A big fan of coffee and cake.

Questions

Good to know

We’re not very comfortable in front of a camera. Is that a problem?

Not at all, and you’re in the majority. My whole approach is built around helping you relax and forget the camera is there. Most of the photographs you’ll love are the candid ones, and for the posed ones I’ll guide you gently through everything.
